Web accessibility audit under the European Accessibility Act
The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) has applied to new products and services since 28 June 2025. In Spain it is transposed by Ley 11/2023, and the fine ceiling for the most serious breaches reaches €1 million. It covers e-commerce, consumer banking, e-books, electronic communications and passenger transport websites and apps, among others.
Microenterprises providing services are exempt. Most other online stores selling to consumers are in scope.
What we deliver
- Audit — key templates and user journeys (home, search, product, cart, checkout, account) tested against WCAG 2.1 AA, the basis of the EN 301 549 standard.
- Fix list — each issue with its location, severity and the code or content change needed.
- Implementation — fixes in your theme or front end, or guidance for your developers.
- Accessibility statement — published on your site, as the law requires for services.
- Monitoring — new pages checked as you publish them.
We do not sell overlay widgets as a substitute for fixing the site.
