Customs representation, EORI and IOSS set-up for EU imports

Since the €3 duty on low-value parcels, many sellers are moving stock into warehouses in Spain and the rest of the EU. Bulk imports need the right customs identity, a declarant and VAT registrations that match the sales flow.

What has to be in place

  • EORI number — the customs identifier required for any import declaration.
  • Declarant and representation — under Articles 18 and 19 of the Union Customs Code, an importer can act through a direct or indirect customs representative. An indirect representative shares liability for the customs debt.
  • VAT — IOSS for distance sales up to €150, OSS for intra-EU distance sales, or a Spanish VAT number for stock held in Spain. Non-EU businesses may need a fiscal representative.

What we do

  1. Map your sales flows: direct parcels, marketplace fulfilment, own EU warehouse.
  2. Prepare EORI and VAT registration files and coordinate them with a fiscal representative where required.
  3. Prepare import documentation (commercial invoices, tariff classification proposals, origin data) and manage the process with a registered customs representative, who lodges the declarations.
  4. Keep one point of contact for your team in English, Spanish or Mandarin Chinese (中文服务).

Limits

Customs declarations and fiscal representation are lodged by registered professionals. We prepare, coordinate and translate; we do not sign declarations ourselves.
