Technical metadata embedded in AI-generated content (watermarks, C2PA-style provenance) that lets machines detect AI origin. Required of generative AI providers under Art. 50(2); older systems have until 2 December 2026.

This is the provider layer — invisible to humans, readable by machines. Different from the visible labels deployers must show.
